When I was a member of The Young Magicians Club (The Magic Circle’s youth initiative for 10 to 18 year olds) I remember the highlight of the year being Junior Day (J-Day), the club’s own one-day convention held at The Magic Circle HQ. A packed day featuring interviews, lectures, performances from some of magic’s biggest stars, and the best part, the competitions.

It was the first stage I ever performed my Dove Act on, and it really does feel like home. Winning the competition 14 years ago(!) was the springboard for all the opportunities that followed, including performing at international conventions and meeting some incredible people who gave me invaluable advice.

It was a joy to be invited back to perform at this year’s J-Day, the first held in person since 2019. I performed one of my favourite routines - some snaps below :)

The Young Magicians Club really is the best place to be for any young magician. It’s where it all started for me and you can find out more about the club here.
