A big joy of my job is the mix of events I get to perform at and the variety of people I meet at them. I often get special requests and I love nothing more than tailoring a performance or even creating something brand new to help make a truly memorable moment.

Last month I had a first - ‘can I perform a magic show, leading to a wedding proposal’. After a chat with Jasdeep (the fiancé to be if all went well), I knew we were on the same page and I got started creating a personal routine leading to the ultimate magical moment for him and Kaveeta (who would hopefully say ‘yes’!).

The day came and up I went to the top floor of the breathtaking Sky Garden. I waited with the photographer until Jasdeep and Kaveeta were settled at their table. A little more nervous than usual, I approached the couple and pretended I was part of the Sky Garden entertainment for the evening. We even managed to get the photographer to snap away without raising Kaveeta’s suspicions, under the guise that he was there taking some promo images for the venue.

The magic was going well and the time was coming. The date they met (10 years previously) materialised, a flash of fire, they discovered an impossible object before I produced a heartfelt note from Jasdeep… leading to the most magical moment I’ve been a part of. And she said ‘YES’!

Thank you Jasdeep for trusting me! Wishing you and Kaveeta many happy years together :)
