I'm devastated to hear that Joanie Spina is no longer with us. One of the kindest and most generous people I've ever met, Joanie made the biggest difference to me and my magic.
An incredible dancer, choreographer and the best artistic director in the business, she made time for absolutely everyone and her spirit will live on in the many performers who have been lucky to have known her.
I first met Joanie in 2010 when she was a judge in a competition I entered. I'll never forget meeting her the day after my performance - she was so supportive, told me what she liked, followed by everything she would change, in a way only Joanie could! When Joanie told you to change something, you listened, and you loved her more with every note. She understood how to get the most out of a performer, like no one else I've ever known. Her countless transformations speak for themselves.
