I was stunned and delighted to be presented with The Magic Circle Children’s Entertainer of the Year Award today by Terry Herbert, the great family entertainer after whom the trophy has been named.
I believe that the best way to entertain children with magic, is to treat them like adults. So the stories, illusions and sleight of hand that I shared in the theatre today were all exactly as I perform them in my one-man family shows.
Strong theatrical magic has the power to remind anyone of the feelings of wonder and infinite possibilities that we all experienced as children. The young audience today reminded me how important it is to treasure those feelings as we get older and I’m over the moon that they enjoyed my show as much as I enjoyed performing it.

It seems to be the month for awards! Last week, I was delighted to be at the Action for Children’s Arts JM Barrie Awards to celebrate Breathe AHR winning the Outstanding Contribution Award. So well deserved :)
