I had a wonderful evening at the Gala Night of the London Palladium Panto!
An annual Panto visit has become a tradition for me. Not for the reasons you may expect; I don’t take young family with, nor am I about to perform in one… instead I go to experience the magic of Phil Hitchcock!
This was my first time at the Palladium Pantomime and it was a spectacular show. Not your usual Panto and perhaps aimed more at adults (there isn’t any interaction with children and there’s even more innuendo than usual!), the show is however packed full of talented celeb stars, which you can read all about elsewhere, and top variety artists who stole the show for me. Featuring Paul Zerdin, the ventriloquist in a class of his own, Peter Pavlov’s sensational stunt bike team, the fearless Skating Medini and of course Phil Hitchcock, whose flawless magic is spread throughout the show.
Phil is a class act and as he spends most of the year travelling the world with his show, we’re lucky he makes time every year to return home and share his magic with us! I’m not going to attempt to describe the magic as you really have to see it live to appreciate it, but I will say Phil’s pyros are bigger than ever and you won’t see a finer performer with doves in the UK.
It’s so brilliant to see Phil where he belongs, in the greatest variety theatre in the world.
