It was a dream come true to perform at the historical City Varieties Music Hall.
Dating back to 1865, so many legends have performed on this stage, from Charlie Chaplin to Laurel & Hardy, Harry Houdini and even the Chuckle Brothers! The theatre itself has a feeling like nowhere else. It’s difficult to put into words; intimate yet still grand, you can’t help remember the heroes of the past who have trodden those boards before you.
I was performing in the ‘Good Old Days’ - originally a TV show first broadcast in 1953, the final episode was made in 1983, but after a five year break it was re-launched as a stage show in 1988. It was a pleasure to perform with such a talented cast, looked after by an amazing crew and it’s an honour to join the Good Old Days family :)
