The International Magic Convention is one of the big events I look forward to every year. A week full of magic, this year's had even more surprises than usual! The David Berglas International Magic Award has become one of the most highly anticipated awards in magic and always a special part of the convention. Recent years have seen the award go to Derren Brown, Jeff McBride and Lu Chen.
What a day! I spent my birthday preparing and performing in Champions of Magic in Kingston. An amazing audience, buzzing from the start, and got to share my birthday with some of my favourite people on the planet :)
I did it! I'm over the moon to have won First Place at the International Brotherhood of Magicians' Stage Competition, held during their annual British Ring Convention last month. Unfortunately I wasn't able to pick up the award myself, as I was on stage with the Champions of Magic show at the time of the awards ceremony, however it was the best news to come off stage to!!
Last month, I was in Edinburgh for the biggest arts festival in the world. My first time at the Fringe, I loved every second of it! Over 3000 shows, with truly something for everyone, it was a pleasure to catch up with talented friends, whilst also making lots of new ones!
I'm devastated to hear that Joanie Spina is no longer with us. One of the kindest and most generous people I've ever met, Joanie made the biggest difference to me and my magic.
I'm often asked "when are you going to be on TV?"...
I love performing live and I really believe that's where magic is at its best. There has been some fantastic magic on TV recently, however TV magic is often very different to the sorts of things you're able to do in a live show... the sort of magic I love.
